Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Maintenance Foreman/Forewoman to support our crews in Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas. In this role, you will supervise, coordinate, and delegate the day to day work activities of a landscape maintenance crew. You will provide crew members with onsite training in skills and methods of landscape maintenance in line with Earthscape standard operating principles and quality expectations. You will also plan labor requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within the deadline. You will be responsible for providing continuous improvement recommendations for the lawn and garden care of every client. In addition, you will maintain and enforce standards of safety, cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas. This is a full-time seasonal position.

  • Have a passion for local plants, shrubs and trees and their respective maintenance needs;
  • Ability to properly identify turf, plant, and tree care requirements, recommend care solutions, and execute techniques for optimal lawn and garden health;
  • Have 5+ years of experience in ornamental horticulture and landscape maintenance;
  • Experience in a broad range of landscaping maintenance site work, including pruning, mulching, turf care, recommending and installing seasonal annuals and perennials, and hard surface care (pressure washing, identifying common problems, recommending solutions);
  • Can effectively lead a crew of lead hands and crew members to maintain award-winning residential landscapes, with experience in leadership or contributing to the professional development of co-workers;
  • Have a growth mindset, and are eager to learn every day on the job;
  • Create and encourage a safe work environment for your colleagues;
  • Aspire for excellence in getting the job done exceptionally well the first time;
  • Have a minimum G Class license.
